Design of the week (26th of July - 1st of August)

Welcome to the first edition of our "Design of the Week" blog series! Each week, we will look at a free design that Mazetropolis is offering for everyone to try out. This week, we're excited to introduce the Gear Pathing Maze - Concept Level. If you're a fan of puzzles and gear mechanisms, this one is definitely for you!

Gear Pathing Maze

The Gear Pathing Maze is a captivating puzzle designed to challenge your problem-solving skills and dexterity. The objective is simple yet challenging: connect the two side gears by strategically placing small and medium-sized gears on the board. All the gears provided must be used, fitting perfectly within the confines of the board. The sides of the board are elevated, creating a boundary that adds an extra layer of difficulty. Additionally, every gear must form part of a continuous loop, meaning no gear can be placed in isolation or left unused. As you spin one of the side gears, all the gears should move in unison, creating a mesmerizing display of mechanical ingenuity.

What's Included in the Design

This design includes several components to ensure a comprehensive and engaging puzzle experience. The main piece is the board, which serves as the platform for placing the gears. Alongside the board are two larger side gears, which are attached to the sides and are crucial for initiating the movement of the smaller gears. To secure these side gears to the board, two pins are provided. The puzzle also includes nine small gears and two medium gears, all of which are essential for creating the continuous path required to solve the maze.
